In New Zealand we have a programme that is called BIBLE IN SCHOOLS that a group of Churches have arranged with public state funded Primary Schools, for ages 5-11
It is for ½ an hour, usually 9.00 – 9.30am in the morning and technically the School is 'closed' for this period.
Those parents who prefer their children not to take part, have a separate supervised reading time option arranged, usually in the Library. Some teachers use this time to take a break or some choose to stay in the class and 'catch-up'
There are Christian study books prepared which are approved curriculum, but these are generally prepared overseas, and have a cost, and are not permitted to be photo-copied.
In an effort to overcome these deficiencies, and
to have more scriptural content and impact
to be able to be photo-copied - free from copyright
with New Zealand Kiwi 'characters' to accompany the students
a friend and I have written and published The QUEST
which has been extensively used in New Zealand schools and is approved as 'supplementary material'
The QUEST is divided into 4 Sections each covering a basic life question
1 WHO IS GOD ?
2 WHAT ABOUT THE BIBLE ?
3 WHO IS JESUS ?
4 WHAT IS PRAYER ?
